Toyota has announced that it will restart production of vehicles at its plant in Bidadi, near Bangalore from May 26, 2020 in a phased manner.
Toyota claims that it will adhere to the directives issued by the state and central governments. The company has come up with a revised set of guidelines for its workforce. It has also issued a 'Restart Manual' with standard operating procedures, which it claims, will ensure the safest possible restart to manufacturing.
According to Toyota, the factory will be operated with limited workforce. Most of the office employees will continue to work from home. The company will ramp up production gradually, only after evaluating the situation.
