Took a test ride of the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro: First observations

I do find the rear indicators to be placed abnormally high, which is good from a visibility standpoint but might get hit frequently.

BHPian shyamg28 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

A friend and apartment mate got a Tiger 1200 GT Pro recently. A few observations:

  • Bike looks pretty big from all angles.
  • The person sitting here is probably 5"9. Inseam I don't know.
  • I'm 5"10, inseam last I checked 31". Definitely was a bit tall for me, but I could get both my feet down.

  • The owner tells me that these deflectors are excellent in well, deflecting the hot air away from legs. But he can still feel the engine heat in peak traffic. Good.

  • As massive as a screen can get. The slow bootup time is provided to wear earplugs, balaclava, helmet, remove them to have a cup of coffee and then rewear them and proceed with the ride. Just kidding. It's slow, could definitely be faster.

Adjustable clutch & brake levers is nice. Although one only fiddles with these things very rarely, it does help, especially when the slack is added at the cables over time or as the brakes fade and you need quicker bite etc.

  • I do find the rear indicators to be placed abnormally high, which is good from a visibility standpoint but might get hit frequently, getting on and off me thinks. Pure conjecture.

  • Shaft driven. My next to next to next bike must have this, by which time I should hopefully have the finances in place.

  • Folding brake levers. I love such touches honestly. It can be the difference between being able to continue your ride and not sometimes.

  • The rear seat opens up to hold a large sized phone with a usb charger built in. It even has a neat little rubber boot.

  • Adjustable seat height. Recently seen on the H450 as well.

  • Lastly, didn't know SHAD makes seats

It is definitely fun being behind this machine. It has a lovely exhaust sound, especially when one downshifts and pushes off quickly.

In my briefest of brief test rides, I felt it was well balanced. A longer TD is warranted. But the mind is a funny place. Maybe we'll hold off on the TD till the bank tells us we can afford one.
