Terra Motors Y4Alfa e-rick & battery launched in India

Japanese two & three-wheeler manufacturer - Terra Motors, has announced the launch of the Y4Alfa e-rickshaw in India. This is a battery-powered vehicle, which can transport 5 people (4 passengers + 1 driver) and boasts of a range of 100 km on full charge. The e-rickshaw weighs 380 kg, is water resistent and priced close to Rs. 1.30 lakh.

The company also introduced its "Terra Battery" in the Indian market. Priced close to Rs. 27,000, the battery comes with a one-year warranty and has a life span of 18 months at the very minimum.

The company's target is to sell 30,000 units of the e-rickshaw and 20,000 batteries by the end of the fiscal year. It had invested Rs. 31 crore in a new manufacturing plant in Haryana, in 2015 (link to news article).
