Tata replaces my Nexon EV's battery pack with a faulty refurbished unit

I have encountered the "HV system fault" issue a few times: at around 7-8% charge after charging to 100% at home using AC, and at 17% charge when using DC fast chargers.

I own a Nexon EV Max, purchased on June 14, 2022, from the first batch of Nexon EV Max as informed by my car Relationship Manager at TATA Surat, Gujarat.

I have driven a total of 59,000 kilometers over 2 years and 1 month.

I have encountered the "HV system fault" issue a few times: at around 7-8% charge after charging to 100% at home using AC, and at 17% charge when using DC fast chargers.

Upon reporting this issue to the workshop, they immediately acknowledged it and requested that I hand over the car for 3-4 days without asking for additional proof or questions, implying they were aware of the problem's commonality.

Yesterday afternoon, I gave them the car, and today I was informed that TATA AUTOCOMP engineers inspected the battery and decided to replace the entire battery pack.

I will be collecting the car today, and the new battery pack is expected to arrive from Pune within 10-15 days

The end user is not likely to be able to make out the difference.

Tata must be having a steady supply of recyclable batteries with some internal arrangement with the supplier.

If this was not so, they would be dragging their feet on battery replacement.

The battery they replaced is a refurbished battery, not a new one.

My EV max battery was replaced in about 56,000 km. With the 'new' refurbished battery range has improved, may be my original battery never worked to 100% capacity.

Well, not OK now after driving it till 5%.

Same issue even after battery replacement.

Since this can come at any SOC 0%-20% I cannot ignore it.

Upon intimating TATA service incharge, they have committed to resolve this issue anyhow.
