Tata Punch EV confirmed; could go on sale in Q3 2023

The Tata Punch EV is expected to be positioned between the Tigor EV and the Nexon EV.

Tata Motors has confirmed the Punch EV for the Indian market. While the official launch date for the all-electric Punch hasn’t been announced, reports suggest the car could go on sale in the third quarter of next year.

The Punch EV will be the fourth all-electric model in Tata Motors’ line-up. It is expected to be positioned between the Tigor EV and the Nexon EV.

The Tata Punch is based on the ALFA platform, which it shares with the Altroz hatchback. The all-electric version will use a modified version of the same architecture and will be powered by the brand’s Ziptron powertrain. It could be offered with multiple battery options.

As far as styling is concerned, the Punch EV is expected to get EV-specific exterior trim and colour options. Inside, it could get features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, semi-digital instrument cluster and regenerative braking.
