Tata Osprey compact SUV - more images and details

Tata Motors has been testing a new compact SUV based on the Nexon concept that was revealed at the 2014 Auto Expo.

According to media reports, the Opsrey is likely to get the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine as the Zest and Bolt. Just like its siblings, it will produce 89 BHP and 140 Nm of torque.

The diesel version of the Osprey is likely to get a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder powerplant that is expected to generate more than 100 BHP and 200 Nm of torque. This engine will belong to the Revotorq family of engines that will be introduced with the upcoming Zica hatchback. Both engines are expected to be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

An image of the interior of the Osprey reveals an instrument cluster with blue illumination and an MID. Many parts are expected to be shared with other Tata cars.

The Osprey is expected to hit showrooms in late 2016.
