Tata Nexon EV tops electric car sales in April 2021

The combined market share of the Nexon EV and Tigor EV was 77%.

The Tata Nexon EV was the best selling electric vehicle in April 2021.

According to electric passenger vehicle sales data released by Jato Dynamics, Tata Motors sold 525 units of the Nexon EV last month. In second place was the MG ZS with 156 units, while the Tigor EV(56 units) and Hyundai Kona (12 units) rounded off the top 4.

The data shows that the combined market share of the Nexon EV and Tigor EV was 77%.

Both cars are also available with internal combustion engines. Sales of the Nexon stood at 6,413 units, while 1,571 units of the Tigor were sold during the last month.

According to the Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV), electric 4-wheeler sales grew by 52.93% to 4,588 units in FY2020-21.
