Tata Motors delivers first batch of Tigor EVs to EESL

Tata Motors has delivered the first batch of Tigor Electric Vehicles (EVs) to state-run Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL). Guenter Butschek, CEO & MD of Tata Motors handed over the keys to the Tigor EVs to Saurabh Kumar, MD of EESL.

The Tigor EV is an electric vehicle based on the Tigor compact sedan. It will be offered in three trim levels – Base, Premium and High. The vehicles are painted in Pearlescent White with blue decals and a blue ‘EV’ badge up front. All variants come equipped with fully automatic air conditioning (FATC).

The Tigor EV uses an electric powertrain developed and supplied by Electra EV. The electric drive is connected to a single-speed automatic transmission.

Back in October 2017, Tata Motors had won a government contract to supply 10,000 electric vehicles. In the first phase, Tata Motors will be delivering 250 Tigor EVs to EESL.
