Mahindra XEV 9e Real-World Range: Performance vs. Expectation

Loved the car as a well thought out product with many features coming together to change how I fundamentally drive (shoutout to the AR display and it's nudge mechanisms).

Got the car last week. Have done 3 long road trips since.
Loved the car as a well thought out product with many features coming together to change how I fundamentally drive (shoutout to the AR display and it's nudge mechanisms).

Of course the car is a beast when it comes to power. Just reminder myself how scary aggressive that torque can be in Race mode.

Pet peeve rn - the range is (kinda) disappointing. I am frequenting the 2nd time on Lucknow Agra expressway now. 3-4 passengers. Medium luggage load.

Got 400-430 range at best. I got the car to beat range anxiety with a 500km promised range seems like this car can only do 500 at 80 and 400 at 90 avg kmph. In 100-110 range (one I typically drive on expressways, I scarcely get 400).

Dad is a bit disappointed seeing me drive at 90 on the expressway when he would zoom around in 120-140 kmph in his 13 year old honda city.

Also, the car is a battery guzzler of i do a burst mode of 130-140 kmph for hardly 5 minutes.

Community sense check - Am I the only one getting this range or you guys have similar observations? I typically have a light foot and drive very economically. (no sudden acceleration or breaking. Mileage priority, not aggression>

Details

Trips 1
Mathura to Lucknow. Left Mathura at 60% SOC, reached Agra at 45% for a 60 km stretch at 80kmph avg. Topped up at 120kWh DC statiq at Agra ITC to 85%. Then joined expressway. Part A - drove 200 kms at 100-140kmph and lost 55% (down to 29% SOC). Then turned on power saving mode and drove next 120 at 90kmph(capped). Reached home with 4% SOC.

Note - range anxiety is real and even more so for the frustratingly bad charging network. Expressway haels 2 food stops. One had Jio and Tata charger with no power supply. The next one had an Adani and Jio charger - both non functional due to network and software issues.

Trip 2 -
Lucknow to Agra to Mathura

This time I was better prepared. 100% SOC while leaving home. Put the car in range mode. Reached Agra (350kms travelled) with 15% SoC remaining. The car was in 90-100 kmph for the first half of the journey and 100-110kmph in the latter.

Topped up at the Statiq charger again to 50 percent, and drove another 113kms from Agra to Mathura, arriving at 25 percent. Avg speed 100 kmph.

Current owners - are you facing similar challenges or it is just me?
