Suzuki has announced that its first electric SUV, the e Vitara, will be offered with a 10-year battery warranty in the global markets. It remains to be seen if Maruti Suzuki offers the same to its Indian customers.
The e Vitara uses lithium-ferro-phosphate (LFP) batteries. It will come with two options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh, with a maximum range of up to 346 km and 428 km, respectively.
The smaller 49 kWh battery pack will power a single electric motor producing 142 BHP and 192.5 Nm. The 61 kWh version will be available in single and dual-motor variants. The former has 172 BHP, while the AWD version packs 181 BHP and 300 Nm.
The Maruti e Vitara is expected to be launched in India later this year. However, we won't get the dual-motor version. The electric SUV will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat plant.
