Sub-4-meter Mahindra Bolero Power+ launched at Rs 6.59 lakh

The Mahindra Bolero line-up has received a new model named the Bolero Power+. The Bolero Power+ is powered by a new mHawkD70 engine. Priced at Rs. 6.59 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai), the new Bolero is almost a lakh cheaper than the regular model. It is available in three variants: SLE, SLX, and ZLX.

The new 1.5-litre, three-cylinder mHawkD70 engine powering the Bolero Power+ is capable of generating 70 BHP and a peak torque of 195 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It has an ARAI certified fuel economy figure of 16.5 km/l. Mahindra claims that the new model is 13% more powerful and 5% more efficient than the regular Bolero. To bring things in perspective, the regular Bolero is powered by a 2.5-litre, engine that develops 63 BHP and 195 Nm of torque. The bigger engine also has a slightly lower fuel economy figure of 15.96 km/l.

The Bolero Power+ measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width, and is 1,880mm high. This shows that the designers have kept the width and height of the new model identical to the regular Bolero, though the length has been altered by 112 mm to take advantage of the lower excise duty applicable on under-4-meter cars. Interestingly, there is no change in the cabin dimensions of the mini Bolero, as the length reduction has been achieved by trimming the bulky front and rear bumpers. This means that the new model is still a 7-seater, with two jump seats in the third row.

The Mahindra Bolero Power+ variant-wise prices are as follows: (ex-showroom Mumbai)
Bolero Power+ SLE - Rs. 6,58,720
Bolero Power+ SLX - Rs. 7,23,050
Bolero Power+ ZLX - Rs. 7,57,477
