Spain: Next-gen Nissan Micra spotted on test

A test mule of the next-generation Nissan Micra hatchback has been spotted testing in Spain.

The new Micra is based on Nissan's CMF-B platform. If the spy images are anything to go by, the new Micra will be bigger and more aggressive-looking than the outgoing model. The car's styling is influenced by the Sway concept that Nissan displayed at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It has a V-Motion front grill, sweptback headlamps, rear door handles located on the C-pillar, a sloping roof line, integrated rear spoiler and wraparound tail lamps.

Nissan is expected to use a range of petrol and diesel engines to power the new Micra. A new 0.9-litre turbocharged petrol unit is likely to be included in the range of engines as well.

Nissan is expected to build the new Micra at the Renault plant in Flins, France. The car is expected to be unveiled at the 2016 Paris Motor Show in October.
