Skoda Slavia unveiled; bookings open

The Skoda Slavia will compete with the Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the mid-size sedan segment.

Skoda has officially unveiled the Slavia mid-size sedan in India. Pre-bookings are now open and deliveries will commence in Q1 2022.

The Slavia is based on the MQB A0 IN platform shared with the Kushaq. It measures 4,541 mm in length, 1,752 mm in width, 1,487 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,651 mm. This makes it larger than the first-gen Octavia.

The Slavia features a typical Skoda front end. It has a large grille with vertical slats flanked by LED headlamp clusters that have integrated L-shaped LED day time running lights. At the rear, the sedan features Skoda's familiar C-shaped taillights.

The Slavia comes with a dual-tone interior with clean and uncluttered dashboard layout. It features a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a 2-spoke steering wheel and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. The car is available in three trims - Active, Ambition and Style.

The Slavia is available with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 113 BHP and 178 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol motor producing 148 BHP and 250 Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission will be offered as standard with both engines. The former will get a 6-speed automatic option, while a 7-speed DSG will be available with the 1.5L engine.
