Skoda has unveiled the prototype of its first electric SUV called the Enyaq iV.
The Enyaq iV is based on the VW Group's MEB platform. The car measures 4,648 mm in length, 1,877 mm in width and 1,618 mm in height, which makes it slightly smaller than the Kodiaq. Its luggage capacity is 585 litres.
The Enyaq iV appears to have a typical Skoda grille at the front, which could be blanked out since it's an electric vehicle. There are slim sweptback headlamps and the front bumper has a trapezoidal air dam. At the rear, the car appears to have wraparound tail lights with V-shaped LEDs. The car has a roof spoiler and a shark fin antenna.
The Enyaq iV will be offered with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and with three battery capacities as well as five performance version. The base Enyaq iV 50 comes with a 55 kWh battery and a 146 BHP electric motor mounted on the rear axle. It will have a range of up to 340 km on single charge. The Enyaq iV 60 has a 177 BHP electric motor and a 62 kWh battery. This version is said to have a range of 390 km per charge.
The Enyaq iV 80 has a 201 BHP electric motor and 82 kWh battery offering a maximum range of 500 km on a single charge. The Enyaq iV 80X has two electric motors - one on each axle with a combined output of 261 BHP. The RS version will also be all-wheel drive and have an output of 302 BHP. It has a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. Both all-wheel drive versions are said to have a maximum range of 460 km on single charge.
The charging capacity of the batteries will be up to 125 kW, which could recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes.
