Skoda could offer Kushaq 1.5L TSI in mid-spec Ambition trim

The Kushaq Ambition misses out on ventilated front seats and a sunroof.

The Skoda Kushaq was launched in June this year. It is available in three variants and two engine options - 1.0L TSI and a 1.5L TSI. While the smaller engine is available in all three trims, the 1.5-litre engine is only offered in the top-spec 'Style' trim. However, that could soon change.

According to a Type Approval Certificate dated August 4, 2021, the Kushaq 1.5L TSI is likely to be offered in the mid-spec 'Ambition' trim, thus giving customers the option of the more powerful engine at a lower price point.

The Ambition variant is fairly loaded but misses out on ventilated front seats and a sunroof. It comes with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, cruise control, ambient lighting, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and a rear-view camera.

The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine puts out 148 BHP and 250 Nm. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
