A heavily camouflaged heavy-duty truck was spotted near Hosur, Karnataka. The low-bed HCV which can be seen sporting a Tamil Nadu state registration plate is believed to be the new Mitsubishi Fuso Super Great truck with a double rear-axle configuration.

Mitsubishi Fuso and BharatBenz are subsidiaries of Daimler AG and the company seems to be testing the Super Great truck on the Indian conditions for the export market. The Fuso Super Great truck is mainly sold in South East Asian market and the latest version was launched in Japan in May this year.

In Japan, the Fuso Super Great is offered with a 10.7 L, inline 6-cylinder diesel engine coupled to a 12-speed automated manual transmission. It comes with two cab options- Super Cab and Short Cab. The reworked cabs have been claimed to aid aerodynamics and ease of access for maintenance and inspection. Different chassis configurations are available for a variety of applications. These include general haulage, dump trucks, tractor trailers and wing body.
