Rumour: TVS-BMW plans twin-cylinder adventure tourer

TVS-BMW is rumoured to be planning an adventure tourer motorcycle that is likely to be based on the BMW G 650 GS or a similar bike. This will be the second bike from the collaboration.

The motorcycle is likely to have a 500-600cc, twin-cylinder engine and falling the middleweight adventure tourer segment. It is expected to be developed in Germany, but manufactured in India. The launch of the bike is likely to take place in the next fiscal.

The new motorcycle is likely to be branded a TVS and priced in the Rs. 5-6 lakh bracket. A BMW-branded version with premium pricing could be available as well.

TVS-BMW's first product is expected to be revealed early next year. Codenamed K03, it is believed to be powered by a 300 cc, water-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine. The bike is likely to be sold under both, TVS and BMW brands. The BMW-branded version of the K03 is expected to be sold through BMW Motorrad's dealership network.
