According to a media report, MG has postponed the launch of the all-electric ZS to next year. The MG EZS EV was believed to debut by end-2019, but it is now expected to be launched sometime in early 2020.
The MG EZS is a 5-seater SUV that is likely to be powered by a 52.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. The battery is said to offer a maximum range of 350-400 km on a single charge and the time required to recharge the battery to its full capacity is around 8 hours.
The EZS is likely to be imported as CKD and will be assembled at MG's Gujarat plant. The company has invested Rs. 2,200 crore to setup a new assembly line, press shop, body shop and a parts distribution centre along with testing and training facilities in India.
