Rumour: Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 to launch in India in July 2017

Mercedes-Benz is reportedly preparing to launch the AMG GLC 43 in India by the end of next month, i.e. July 2017. This new variant will join the GLC line-up in India, which currently includes the GLC 300 petrol and the GLC 220d diesel.

The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 will be a performance-oriented version of the GLC SUV. It will be powered by a 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6 engine that will be rated at 357 BHP and 521 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by an improved version of the 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic gearbox. It will come with an all-wheel drive system and air body control as standard. Mercedes claims that the AMG GLC 43 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, while its top speed has been electronically limited to 250 km/h.

The SUV will also get some AMG-specific design elements to differentiate it from the regular GLC variants. These cosmetic add-ons include new grille, larger air intakes on the front bumper, 19-inch AMG alloys, an all-black interior option with red stitching and an AMG-spec flat bottom steering wheel.
