Maruti Suzuki may be planning to launch a petrol variant of the S-Cross. According to a Google Ad posted by the company, the prices for the S-Cross petrol could start at Rs. 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom). The ad links to the Nexa website, which does not have any details of the petrol variant. The ad has since been removed.

The petrol variant might get the new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that will be making its debut on the Ciaz facelift. However, there has been no official word from Maruti regarding the same.

The Maruti S-Cross facelift was launched in October 2017. At present, it is only offered with a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with built-in mild hybrid technology. The engine produces 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. There are also rumours of a 1.6-litre diesel engine making a comeback on the S-Cross.
