In March 2018, it was reported that Jeep dealerships had started accepting bookings for the Compass Trailhawk. Now, according to a recent media report, the carmaker might have postponed the launch to the end of 2018 or early 2019.
Reports suggest that Jeep plans to introduce a BS-VI compliant engine on the Compass Trailhawk and is currently in the process of calibrating the engines to meet the stricter emission regulations, which are expected to come into force in 2020.
The Trailhawk is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine with a peak output of 172 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 350 Nm of torque @ 1,750-2,500 rpm. While the standard car comes with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission, the Compass Trailhawk is expected to be offered with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The SUV will come with a Selec-Terrain 4WD system equipped with low-range, 'Rock mode' and hill descent control. The suspension has been raised by 20 mm over the standard model for better approach, departure and breakover angles.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk features a dual-tone exterior with a black roof and grille. The dual-tone bumpers come equipped with red tow hooks at both ends. It also gets dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels and a black decal on the bonnet. On the inside, the car comes with red trim and all-weather floor mats.
