Rumour: Jeep Compass to be unveiled in India on April 12

Media reports suggest that Jeep is gearing up to unveil the Compass SUV in India on April 12, 2018. It must be noted this is just the unveiling of the vehicle and the official prices will not be revealed on the said date.

The Compass will be the first Jeep product to be manufactured locally, at the FCA production facility in Ranjangaon, near Pune. FCA India will also be exporting the Made in India Compass to RHD markets worldwide. The SUV has already been spotted testing multiple times on public roads in India.

FCA had earlier revealed that there will be a total of 18 powertrain options on offer with the Compass across the globe. For the Indian market, the SUV is expected to come with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engine options. Transmission duties will be handled by a 6-speed MT and a 9-speed AT. Front-wheel drive will be standard, while all-wheel drive will be offered as an option.

Earlier reports have suggested that an official launch of the Compass is expected to take place in June this year.
