Rumour: Honda discontinues regular production of Stunner

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India is rumoured to have stopped regular production of the CBF Stunner motorcycle. The bike is now available only on built-to-order basis.

The CBF Stunner with its half-fairing, alloy wheels and split seats, was aimed at buyers interested in a sporty bike. However, its sales never really took off.

One of the reasons for its slow sales was its lack of power. The Stunner's engine was just not potent enough to match its looks. The 124.7 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, carburetted unit, which developed 11 bhp and 11 Nm of torque, was simply not powerful enough to make it exciting to ride.

Further problems were posed by the bike's 128 kg weight, which pulled down its fuel efficiency. Honda had introduced a fuel-injected version of the Stunner, but pulled it out of the market last year due to a poor reception from the public.

This is the second model that Honda is taking off the shelves. It had discontinued the Dazzler motorcycle last year.
