Rumour: Honda Amaze to get CVT on top-spec diesel trim

According to a media report, Honda plans to launch the VX (top-spec) variant of the new Amaze diesel with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

In May 2018, Honda introduced the second-generation Amaze. The car is available in 6 variants, which include 2 CVT variants. The rumoured VX CVT variant will be positioned above the S CVT and V CVT that are currently offered on both petrol and diesel versions of the car.

In VX trim, the Amaze gets headlamps with LED DRLs, fog lamps, electric ORVMs and 15-inch alloy wheels. It comes with cruise control, automatic climate control, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and rear parking sensors and reversing camera. Safety features such as ABS with EBD, dual front airbags and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors are standard across all variants.

The Amaze diesel is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces 99 BHP @ 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm @ 1,750 rpm. It comes with a choice of a 5-speed manual or a CVT.
