Rumour: Ferrari GTC4Lusso to be launched on August 2

A year ago, we had reported that Ferrari was planning to introduce the GTC4Lusso in India in 2017. Now, media reports claim that the car will be launched in the country on August 2. It is expected to be priced at more than Rs. 4 crore and rival the likes of the Aston Martin DB11 and Bentley Continental GT.

The GTC4Lusso is a four-seater and replaces the FF in Ferrari's model line-up. In terms of styling, the car appears to be an evolution of the FF.

The interior has been completely redesigned and features a new dashboard layout with a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the centre, new steering wheel design and an additional screen on the passenger side. Compared to the FF, rear seat legroom has gone up by 16 mm.

It's been reported that Ferrari will initially introduce the top-spec GTC4Lusso powered by a 6,262cc, naturally aspirated V12 engine which delivers 680 BHP @ 8,000 rpm and 697 Nm of torque @ 5,750 rpm. This car has a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 335 km/h. The turbocharged, rear-wheel drive GTC4Lusso T could be added to the Indian line-up later.

The GTC4Lusso is equipped with an all-wheel drive. It uses a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with an electronic differential. It also features rear-axle steering. The system steers the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels under 100 km/h. This improves low-speed handling and reduces understeer. When speeds exceed 100 km/h, the system turns the rear wheels in the same direction as the front for adding stability.
