Ferrari GTC4Lusso range launched. Prices start at Rs. 4.20 Cr

Ferrari has launched its GTC4Lusso range in India. The base V8-powered GTC4Lusso T is priced at Rs. 4.20 crore while the V12 version costs Rs. 5.20 crore (ex-showroom, India).

The Ferrari GTC4Lusso is the replacement for the FF. The second-generation of the four-seat, all-wheel drive model made its debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. It was initially launched with a V12 engine and was later offered with a twin-turbo V8.

The GTC4Lusso retains the proportions of the FF albeit with a facelift. It measures 4,922 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and has height of 1,383 mm with a wheelbase of 2,990 mm. It gets new L-shaped headlights and a quad-tail light setup like the 812 Superfast. It also gets a new grille, rear diffuser and a spoiler as part of the revised aerodynamics package.

Like its predecessor, the GTC4Lusso's highly customizable interior can seat four people and has a fairly large boot (450 litre) for a performance car. Ferrari has given the GTC4Lusso an all-new dashboard with a large 10.25-inch touchscreen in the centre and a dual cockpit display which adds another screen on the passenger side of the dashboard. The other screen is expected to give the same experience as the driver to the front passenger. The new design steering wheel houses buttons for turn signals, wipers, lights, etc. This kind of setup is very common on modern Ferraris.

Under the hood, the GTC4Lusso packs a 6,262cc, naturally aspirated V12 engine that delivers 680 BHP @ 8,000 rpm- 30 BHP more than the V12 in the FF and 697 Nm @ 5,750 rpm. Ferrari claims that 80 percent of maximum torque is available from as low as 1,750 rpm.

The engine is mated to 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox which allows the GTC4Lusso to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. It will reach a top-speed of 335 km/h. The four-wheel drive system on the GTC4Lusso is an updated version of the one found on the FF and features rear-wheel steering.

The GTC4Lusso T gets a 3,855cc, twin-turbocharged V8 from the 488GTB. This engine makes 601 BHP @ 7,500 rpm and 760 Nm of peak torque @ 3,000-5,250 rpm and is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and an electronic differential.

However, the GTC4Lusso T comes with rear-wheel steering but doesn't get the all-wheel drive system like the V12 version. Yet the 0-100 km/h is achieved in 3.5 seconds and it has a top speed of 320 km/h.
