Rumour: Chevrolet Cruze to get MyLink system in October

Chevrolet is rumoured to be readying an updated version of the Cruze sedan for India. The refreshed car is likely to get cosmetic changes and additional equipment.

The cosmetic changes to the Cruze are likely to include a new grille, new headlamps with DRLs, reworked front bumper with redesigned fog lamp housings and tweaked tail lamps.

Along with the cosmetic changes, Chevrolet is expected to equip the Cruze with its MyLink infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen display, smartphone integration, navigation and multiple connectivity.

The Cruze is not expected to get any mechanical changes It will continue with the 2.0-litre, VCDi engine, which produces 166 PS @ 3800 rpm and 380 Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm. The 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions from the current model will be carried over as well.

The Cruze is one of the oldest cars in the D1 segment, which also includes the Toyota Corolla Altis, Volkswagen Jetta, Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and Renault Fluence. The next-generation model is not expected to come to India before 2017. With the updates, Chevrolet will be hoping that the Cruze manages to attract more customers than it has been doing.
