Current-gen Honda City to be sold alongside fifth-gen model

According to a media report, the fifth generation Honda City is likely to be sold alongside the fourth generation model in India, targetting separate price brackets.

To help differentiate it from the new City, the car could get a suffix. Alternatively, Honda might also change the name of the old City.

It is believed that the fourth generation City will target fleet operators. It has been rumoured that for the first time, Honda is likely to allow bulk sales of the City on a case-by-case basis.

The fifth generation City is expected to cost more than the outgoing model. It could be offered in three variants. The car will come with LED headlamps and LED tail lights, dual-tone interior with a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit, 6 airbags and a Lanewatch camera.

The new City is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine producing 119 BHP. The engine could be paired with either a manual gearbox of CVT.
