Rumour: 2017 KTM Duke 390 India launch in Q1 2017

According to media reports, KTM will be launching the 2017 Duke 390 in India in the first quarter of 2017. These speculations appear a couple of weeks after the Austrian automaker unveiled the new Duke at the EICMA show in Milan.

The new Duke gets significant cosmetic updates, especially at the front. The bike now comes with split LED headlamps with DRLs, sharp fuel tank extensions and tweaked split seats. The instrument cluster features a coloured TFT screen, while the optional 'KTM My Ride' feature allows the rider to connect a smartphone for hands-free operation and audio streaming. It also gets adjustable clutch and brake levers. The overall looks appear to be inspired from the automaker's flagship naked offering - the KTM Super Duke.

Powering the new Duke 390 is the same 373.2 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine rated at 43 BHP and mated to a 6-speed gearbox. However, the updated model is now Euro-IV emission norm-compliant, and thus gets a larger, side-mounted exhaust instead of the stubby under-belly unit found on the earlier bike.
