2016 Hyundai Tucson India launch on November 14

Hyundai will be launching the 2016 Tucson in India on November 14, 2016. The automaker was previously planning to introduce it on October 24, but the launch was delayed without revealing any reason.

The Tucson will be placed in between the Creta and the Santa Fe in the company's Indian portfolio. It is likely to be powered by a 2.0-litre CRDi engine which will be available in two states of tune: 134 BHP and 181 BHP. Petrol variants will borrow the engine from the Elantra, which gets a 2.0-litre MPI unit that churns out 150 BHP and 195 Nm of torque. Transmission options on offer will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic. The Tucson might also get an all-wheel drive system in some of the trim levels.

The third-generation Tucson will be brought into India as CKD units. The company claims to have achieved 50% part localization for the car to keep the launch prices competitive.
