Tucson to be the first Hyundai to undergo Bharat NCAP crash test

Hyundai will be aiming to achieve a 5-star rating for the Tucson.

Earlier this week, we reported that the Tata Harrier and Safari would be the first to undergo Bharat NCAP crash tests. Maruti, Hyundai and Mahindra are also sending their vehicles for evaluation.

According to a media report, the Tucson will be the first Hyundai to be crash tested under the Bharat NCAP program. It is likely to be followed by the Exter.

Hyundai will be aiming to achieve a 5-star rating for the Tucson. The SUV comes equipped with 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, and three-point seatbelts with seatbelt reminders. The top variant of the Tucson also gets Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

The Tucson has already been crash tested by Euro NCAP and Latin NCAP. The SUV was awarded a 5-star rating by the European agency but failed to achieve a perfect score in Latin NCAP tests as it has stricter testing protocols.
