Renault Fluence facelift spied

Renault recently announced that it is not planning to launch any new model in India. The company plans to give its existing models makeovers to keep them looking fresh.

The updated version of the Fluence, which is the company’s flagship sedan, was caught testing near the Renault-Nissan plant on the outskirts of Chennai by Tamil motoring magazine, Motor Vikatan.

The photographs show the car with minimal cladding. Only the bonnet and the badging on the car have been masked. Visible changes to the exterior of the car include a new bumper with LED daytime running lights and a redesigned grille. Also seen on the car are new 10-spoke alloy wheels. The rest of the car’s exterior remains unchanged.

On the inside, while the overall dashboard layout of the Fluence is likely to remain the same, a new instrumentation cluster is likely to be incorporated into it. The car is expected to feature an electric parking brake, parking sensors, new upholstery and Renault’s new R-Link multimedia system with navigation function.

The facelifted Fluence is likely to continue using the 1.5-litre K9K diesel and the 2.0-litre petrol units from the existing version.

We would not be surprised if Renault unveils the updated Fluence at the Auto Expo.
