The Toyota Innova has been a prime bread-winner for the Japanese car maker in India, with the MPV finding favour with private owners and fleet operators alike. Toyota officially presented the new-gen Innova as the Innova Crysta at the 2016 Auto Expo. We now have images directly from the production line showing the last unit of the 1st-gen Innova receiving its send off as its production comes to an end.

It is now official that the outgoing Innova, which has been on sale for over a decade, will not be sold alongside the Innova Crysta. The all-new Innova is expected to be launched in India before May 2016. The Innova Crysta will be sold with a 2.4L diesel & a 2.8L diesel, along with a 2.0L petrol. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

The outgoing Innova has seen a consistent rise in prices and is currently priced at Rs. 11.44 lakh to Rs. 16.73 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), though it doesn't offer much in terms of equipment. The Innova Crysta is expected to come with more niceties such as leather interiors, ambient lighting, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, automatic climate control and a power adjustable driver seat among other features. Safe to say then, that the new Innova Crysta will come with an even more ambitious price tag.
