Petrol prices hiked by 89 paise, diesel up by 86 paise

Fuel prices in the country suffered yet another hike on Saturday, when petrol prices were upped by 89 paise per litre while diesel became costlier by 86 paise a litre. The said increment is excluding state levies and VAT. The new prices have been made applicable from the midnight of November 5 and November 6.

After the recent price revision, petrol in Delhi now costs Rs. 67.62 per litre and diesel is priced at Rs. 56.41 per litre (after including VAT).

This marks the sixth hike in petrol prices since September 2016, and the third consecutive hike in diesel in the past one month. Petrol prices have shot up by Rs. 7.53 per litre since September, while the last one month has seen a hike of Rs. 3.90 per litre in diesel rates.

Fuel prices in the country are revised every fortnight depending on the international crude oil price and the INR-USD exchange rates.
