Renault will soon launch the Kwid AMT in India. Ahead of its official introduction, brochure of the upcoming model has surfaced, revealing all vital details about the car. According to this brochure, the Kwid will get the AMT with the 1.0-litre petrol engine. It will exclusively be available in the top-end RxT (o) variant.
The Kwid AMT will be equipped with a 5-speed Easy-R gearbox. However, unlike other AMT cars in the country, the Kwid won't get a conventional gear shift lever. Instead, it comes with a Shift Control Dial, mounted on the centre console near the power window buttons. The driver can select three modes through the dial: Reverse, Neutral and Drive. The absence of a gear lever means that the Kwid AMT doesn't give the option to shift gears manually. The brochure also reveals that the automatic variant will have a company claimed fuel economy of 24.04 km/l. This is higher than the claimed fuel economy figure of the manual Kwid 1.0, which stands at 23.01 km/l.
Based on the top-end RxT (o) trim, the Kwid AMT is expected to get a driver side airbag, front seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters, a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth audio streaming, remote keyless entry with central locking, front fog lamps, front power windows, and a rear parcel tray.
