Ola Electric patents removable battery for e-scooters

Hero Vida is the only mainstream OEM currently offering a removable battery on its electric scooters.

Ola Electric has filed a patent for a new removable battery that could be offered on its upcoming electric 2-wheelers.

Hero Vida is the only mainstream OEM currently offering a removable battery on its electric scooters. As the latest patent filing indicates, this could soon change as Ola seems to be working on its own swappable battery.

The Ola S1 and its variants come with a fixed battery. However, it's worth noting that the Etergo e-scooter, on which the S1 is based, had a removable battery setup.

Removable batteries are more convenient than fixed batteries. Once discharged, they can be swapped out for a fully charged battery within minutes.
