Next-generation Honda Civic spied undisguised!

The next generation Honda Civic has been spied undisguised. The car's images were shared on CivicX and a quick comparison with the patent images shows the design similarities.

Snapped in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the new Civic features a chrome “flying H” front grille which merges with the swept-back headlamps, indicators on the wheel arch, sleek ORVMs, chrome garnish along the window lining, chrome door handles and a coupe-esque roofline. The car also features a boomerang shaped set of tail lights, faux rear air vents with integrated reflectors and a small boot-lip spoiler.

The new Civic will be the first U.S model to apply the new VTEC turbo engines from the company's Earth Dreams Technology powertrain series. The Civic will be offered with a 1.5L, direct-injection, turbo-VTEC engine that can be mated with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic.

It is still uncertain if the Civic will make a comeback in India. Honda's current strategy is focused on affordable cars and the Civic would fall into the 15-20 lakh price bracket. Honda would also have to offer the Civic with a diesel engine for it to find enough takers.
