New Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 displayed at concert

Maruti Suzuki has displayed the new Alto K10 at a concert in Chandigarh. The car will feature cosmetic and mechanical changes.

The new Alto K10 looks similar to the Alto 800 with large, swept-back headlamps, new grille, front bumper and rear section. The interiors of the car are expected to be upgraded as well.

The Alto K10 is expected to carry on with the same engine that does duty in the current model - a 998 cc, 3-cylinder unit which develops 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A CNG option and Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) are likely to be available as well.

The launch date of Alto K10 has not been disclosed. Maruti Suzuki will position the car against the Datsun GO and Hyundai Eon 1.0.
