New-gen Maruti Swift Dzire spotted without any camouflage

The next-generation Maruti Swift Dzire has been spotted without any camouflage. The car is expected to be launched in India in the coming months. Media reports suggest that Maruti has already started production of the new Dzire at its plant in Manesar, Haryana.

The spotted model appears to be the top-end variant. Visible design elements include a new set of multi-spoke alloy wheels, a longer chrome strip on the boot lid and vertically-oriented wrap-around tail lights. The spy shots also indicate a more proportionate integration of the boot, especially in comparison to the present-gen model. The front fascia of the car will most likely be inspired by the new-gen Swift, though the Dzire appears to get a new bumper design.

Mechanically, the new Dzire is expected to carry forward the existing 1.2-litre, 4-cyinder petrol and 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engines. Both engines are expected to come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an automatic transmission (or AMT) is likely to be offered as an option.
