Need advice: Converting the electric 4x4 on my Tata Telcoline to manual

I was wondering whether I can let go of the electric shift and go for a manual single lever actuator.

I have a Telecoline 4x4 which will soon have to undergo an FC test as it is approaching 15years. I bought it new in Feb 2008. As I am preparing for the FC, I was wondering whether I can let go of the electric shift and go for a manual single lever actuator.

I have seen someone who has done this on a Tata Sumo 4x4 which used to use the same Borg-Warner unit. Any pointers on who could undertake such a work in Kerala or in Bangalore?

FC process will not check for 4x4 working. Your vehicle condition (preferably stock looks without undue extension and modifications), insurance, valid emission are what will be required. Paint condition, working of lights, horn, and to be safe, the wipers. The basic functionality is what will be checked.

You can do the conversion from electric shift to manual, at anytime.

 Yup, you can definitely do the conversion. Watch this video.  Further ahead, you can get the Thar CRDe gearbox from scrap and install it for a proper manual gearbox.
