The Tata Nexon went on sale last month and now the company seems to have shifted their focus towards the AMT version which is expected to be launched early next year.

A recent spy image shows that Tata could be testing the Nexon AMT which might be offered in the XZA trim. The XZA variant is likely to be based on the top-end XZ+ trim. The test mule featured here has the rear parking sensors, shark fin antenna, roof rails, and grey "X-factor" accents on the rear fascia. Earlier spy shots have revealed that the XZA trim also gets dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps and body-coloured door handles. Surprisingly, both test cars don't have a rear wiper, washer and defogger.

The Tata Nexon is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It has been reported that a 6-speed AMT is being developed specifically for the Nexon. It is likely to be offered with the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine which makes 108 BHP and 170 Nm of torque. The Nexon also comes with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine which produces 108 BHP and a peak torque of 260 Nm. That said, Tata is yet to confirm the engines that will offered with the AMT variant.
