More images: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift

Earlier this month, the Ciaz facelift was spotted completely undisguised. Now, new images have surfaced online, which provide a more up-close look at the updated mid-size sedan.

As part of the facelift, the new Ciaz receives an updated front fascia. It comes with a set of new headlights, reworked grille with chrome trim and a redesigned front bumper with chrome inserts around the fog lamp pods. At the rear, the car gets a set of LED tail lights, while the rear bumper with its integrated reflectors appears to have been carried over unchanged. Higher variants of the Ciaz are likely to get chrome door handles and dual-tone alloy wheels in a new multi-spoke design.

Under the bonnet, the Ciaz facelift is expected to be offered with a new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology and a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit. A diesel mild-hybrid featuring a newly developed 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine is likely to be introduced sometime next year. Initially, the Ciaz is likely to get two transmission options - a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. A 6-speed manual gearbox might be launched at a later date.

The Maruti Ciaz facelift is rumoured to be launched around August 2018.
