More details on the Honda HR-V

Earlier this month, we had reported that the Honda HR-V was displayed to dealers in Delhi. As per the latest information, the new SUV is likely to be launched later this year around Diwali.

The car showcased at the event was the facelifted version of the HR-V that was imported from Thailand. It reportedly looks more like a bigger WR-V than a smaller CR-V.

Honda is yet to finalize the engines that will be offered on the HR-V in India. However, the company is keen to launch it with a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired with a CVT (same combination as the Civic). Discussions are still on whether to introduce a diesel version or not. For one, over 3/4ths of the Civic's bookings have been for the petrol AT. Then, the BS6 norms will make the diesel even pricier.

In terms of pricing, the HR-V could be priced in the same ballpark as the Civic. In our opinion, the HR-V should be priced at par with the Creta, if not slightly lower.
