MG Gloster prices hiked by up to Rs. 80,000

The top-spec Savvy 6-seater variant now costs Rs. 36.88 lakh.

MG has hiked the prices of the Gloster yet again. Prices have gone up by Rs. 50,000 - Rs. 80,000, depending on the variant.

The price of the base Super 7-seater variant remains unchanged at Rs. 29.98 lakh. The Sharp 7-seater variant gets a price hike of Rs. 70,000. It now costs Rs. 35.38 lakh.

The cheapest 6-seater variant is the Smart which costs Rs. 31.98 lakh. That's a hike of Rs. 50,000. The price of the Sharp 6-seater variant has gone up by Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 35.38 lakh, while that of the Savvy 6-seater has increased by Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 36.88 lakh.

The MG Gloster is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which comes in two states of tune. In the Super and Smart variants, the engine comes with a single turbocharger and makes 161 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 375 Nm @ 1,500-2,400 rpm. These variants don't get the 4-wheel drive system.

The Sharp and Savvy variants get the 2.0-litre, twin-turbo diesel unit that is rated at 215 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 480 Nm @ 1,500-2,400 rpm. This engine is mated to a shift-on-fly 4WD system and has an electro-mechanical differential lock. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is offered as standard across all variants.
