Mercedes-Benz to launch 5-seater EQS electric SUV on January 9

The EQS 450 will be offered with the same 122 kWh battery pack as the 7-seater version.

In September, Mercedes-Benz launched the EQS electric SUV in India. Currently, it is only available in a 7-seat configuration. However, a 5-seater version is expected to be introduced next year.

According to media reports, Mercedes-Benz will launch the 5-seater EQS 450 on January 9, 2025. It will share the stage with another high-end EV, the G 580.

The EQS 450 looks similar to the EQS 580 that is currently on sale in India. It has a blanked-off grille featuring a gloss black panel, dual LED headlamps with an LED light bar, retractable door handles, and connected wraparound taillights.

Inside, the EQS 450 is expected to get Mercedes’ 56-inch Hyperscreen, featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a third display on the passenger side.

The EQS 450 will be offered with the same 122 kWh battery pack as the 7-seater version. It is the largest claimed cell capacity for any passenger EV in India. The battery can be charged from 10 to 80% in 31 minutes using a 200 kW DC charger.
