Maruti Suzuki S-Cross to be unveiled at 2015 IIFA Awards

Maruti Suzuki will display the S-Cross at the 2015 IIFA Awards in Malaysia over the coming weekend. Earlier, there were reports that the car would be called the A-Cross. However, the promotional images of the event and the latest spy pictures of the car from Malaysia, suggest that Maruti is likely to stick to the original name of the car.

The S-Cross will be powered by a 1.6-litre diesel engine that puts out about 120 BHP. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. For India, a 1.3-litre diesel engine with 90 BHP on tap and a 5-speed manual transmission is expected to be used.

The spy images show two S-Cross cars wearing a blue shade with no Maruti or Suzuki lettering or badges disclosing the trim level. The car has a dual slat chrome grille, projector headlamps and daytime running lights. It has a black cladding running along the lower portion of its bumpers and sides with silver skid plates.
