Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV begins testing in India

The eVX electric SUV uses a 60 kWh battery pack that offers a maximum range of around 550 km.

After being spied on European roads, Maruti Suzuki has started testing the eVX electric SUV in India.

The Maruti Suzuki eVX test mule was first spotted in Poland. Recently, the carmaker showcased a near-production version at the Tokyo Motor Show. A similar camouflaged test mule has now been captured on camera in Gurgaon.

The eVX will be based on Toyota's 40PL skateboard architecture. The SUV measures 4.3 meters in length and has a wheelbase of 2.7 meters. It uses a 60 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a maximum range of around 550 km.

The overall shape of the SUV looks similar to the concept. It has an upright front fascia with a blanked-off grille and L-shaped headlamps. It has flared wheel arches and C-pillar mounted rear door handles, while the rear features slim wraparound taillights and an integrated roof spoiler.
