Maruti's Manesar plant achieves 25 lakh cars milestone

India's largest car maker - Maruti Suzuki, rolled out the 2.5 millionth car from its plant in Manesar - a Glistening Grey Swift Zxi. The plant achieved this 25 lakh production milestone in 7 years and 8 months which is the fastest for any car manufacturer in the country. Presently, the Manesar plant manufactures the Swift, DZire and the Celerio.

The Manesar facility is spread over 600 acres, housing 3 plants, with an annual production capacity of 800,000 units. The Manesar campus also accommodates the diesel engine plant and a suppliers park.

Interestingly, the company has installed a 1 MW Solar Power Plant inside the Manesar facility to offset CO2 emissions by upto 1200 tonnes annually.
