Maruti Suzuki has silently removed the Grand Vitara CNG from its official Nexa website, leading to speculations that the CNG variants might have been discontinued.
Maruti Suzuki had introduced CNG variants of the Grand Vitara in 2023. The SUV was powered by a 1.5-litre engine producing 99 BHP and 136 Nm. When running on CNG, the output dropped to 87 BHP and 121.5 Nm. It was offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The Grand Vitara S-CNG was available in two variants and came equipped with features such as the SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Next Gen Suzuki Connect with over 40 connected features and 6-airbags.
If the CNG variants have indeed been phased out, the Grand Vitara will be offered with just the mild-hybrid and strong hybrid powertrains going forward.
