Mahindra testing next-gen Bolero in Germany

Mahindra recently announced that it plans to introduce three new compact SUVs over the next 24 months. One of the three will be the next-generation Bolero, codenamed U301. Mahindra has been testing the SUV on Indian roads for a while now. However, the latest set of pictures of the vehicle comes in from as far away as Germany. This does not mean that the Bolero is going to be launched in Germany.

The images show the compact dimensions of the U301. It has straightforward, boxy design with no curves or frills, five doors and carries its spare wheel on its tail gate. Reports say that it has a new ladder frame chassis and will be available in various body lengths. The U301 is expected to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine. A petrol unit is also likely to be offered. The vehicle is also expected to be equipped with off-roading features.

It is rumoured that the current generation Bolero and the new one could co-exist.
